Challenges

I printed out this freebie from French Press Mornings as a reminder and a challenge to myself of what God requires of me -

He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
— Micah 6:8

AND today I start another challenge - the Poem-a-Day (PAD) challenge at Poetic Asides. I actually completed this challenge maybe 6 years ago and it was so good for my soul! (You can find my poems at my old blog here.) It's so good to get the brain going in this direction again.

I found myself up at 3:30 this morning and behold! the prompt was up by 4!! Today's assignment was to write a "resistance" poem.

For today’s prompt, write a resistance poem. There are many forms of resistance, including militant resistance, resistance to new ideas, the resistance in exercise, and maybe even a little resistance to starting a new project.
— Poetic Asides Day 1 Prompt

The first thing that came to mind as I picked up my computer to type was my "resistance" to closing open windows on my browser. Yes, I know I can bookmark, pin, etc. And I do. But still, it feels like shutting the door on possibilities. And then there's the fear of forgetting. My family makes fun of me for all the windows I leave open and my computer groans under the weight of it all.

So, ta-da! Here is Day 1 -

These Many Windows

My failure to close
these many windows

On the wide, wide world
Leaves my mind a-twirl.

What fears do I face?
What dreams do I chase?

Nice Canadians
My circadian

Amazon, of course
Our rates of divorce

Elspeth McLean’s art
My calorie chart

Book of Ephesians
Also Galatians

Online Sketchbook Skool
Time in Istanbul?

Baby crib bedding
The flu is spreading

Where are my taxes?
Wanes versus waxes?

Madonna’s close call
Adobe install.

So many places to go,
So much knowing to know!

How could I possibly close
These many windows?

These are almost all topics that I have windows open for either on my laptop or on my ipad. A few were added for rhyming (Divorce, Adobe, Galations....) We'll see what tomorrow brings!
